Visa Information for International Participants
The LACA-ABCr 2025 Organizing Committee advises all participants traveling from outside Brazil to verify visa requirements well in advance. As processing times can vary significantly depending on your country of origin, we urge you to begin this process as soon as possible to ensure a smooth journey to Fortaleza.
Step 1: Check if You Need a Visa
- Official Sources: Please consult the official website of the nearest Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence. This is the most reliable source for the latest visa requirements and application procedures.
- Exemptions for MERCOSUR & Associated States: Citizens from MERCOSUR member countries (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay) and several associated states (Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname) do not require a visa to attend the conference. Entry is permitted with a valid national identity document (e.g., National ID Card).
Step 2: Request an Invitation Letter (If Required)
If your visa application requires an official letter of invitation from the conference, please send a request via email to [email protected].
- Ensure your conference registration is complete before requesting a letter.
- Your letter will confirm conference details, your registration status, and the event dates.
Step 3: Apply for Your Visa
- Apply Early: We strongly recommend submitting your visa application at least three months prior to your planned travel dates to allow for adequate processing time.
- Typical Required Documents: While requirements vary by consulate, you will generally need:
- A valid passport with at least six months of validity beyond your intended stay.
- The completed visa application form.
- The official conference invitation letter.
- Proof of accommodation in Brazil.
- Proof of travel itinerary (e.g., flight reservations).
- Evidence of sufficient funds to cover your stay.
- Proof of travel health insurance, if applicable.
Important Notes
- Visa Fees: Application fees are determined by the embassy or consulate and are non-refundable, regardless of the application’s outcome.
- Disclaimer: The LACA-ABCr 2025 Organizing Committee is happy to provide supporting documentation for registered attendees. However, the final decision regarding the issuance of a visa rests exclusively with the Brazilian immigration authorities.
